Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders

279 young leaders graduated from the Transnet Academy on 29 February 2024, marking the successful conclusion of the inaugural Young Leaders Programme for Transnet. This achievement represents more than just a graduation ceremony - it symbolises the culmination of a collaboration between Transnet and Henley Business School to foster leadership excellence among the next generation of professionals.

Throughout the past 12 months, these young leaders have embarked on a transformative journey encompassing four key pillars: classroom learning, community engagement, book reviews, and the implementation of action learning projects. This holistic approach aimed to not only equip them with essential leadership skills but also instill in them a sense of social responsibility and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.

One of the most remarkable outcomes of the programme is the significant professional growth witnessed among the delegates. An impressive 19% of the delegates were promoted during the programme—a clear testament to the tangible returns on investment for both the delegates and Transnet. This achievement underscores the effectiveness of the programme in nurturing talent and preparing young leaders for the challenges of the ever-evolving business landscape.
