Empowering Through Photography - The Bariga Story.

Over the past three weeks, the Canon Miraisha Basic Photography Workshop in collaboration with Kings and Queens Art Academy has become a fixture in the slums of Bariga, a commuinty located in the mainland area of Lagos, Nigeria. We've had the privilege of training three groups of students through a captivating four-day journey in the art of photography. Leading the workshop was Canon Certified Trainer, Tore Oraise, himself a beneficiary of the Canon Miraisha programme. Tore's presence instilled a powerful message: the transformative potential of the Miraisha programme in developing the future of Africa's creative industry.

"The Miraisha programme has been a remarkable experience for both students and the Bariga community. Despite the challenges the community faces, the programme offers a beacon of hope. It equips students with valuable photography skills and fosters a fresh outlook on life," says Adewale Ayodeji, Director, Kings and Queens Art Academy.
