Empowering Tech Enterprises with Patent Applications! The “Rapid Pre-examination of Patents and Intellectual Property Financial Services Seminar” Came

With the increasing demand for technological innovation and intensified international competition, Chinese tech enterprises are placing greater emphasis on intellectual property protection, leading to a continuous rise in the number of patent applications. In 2023, a total of 921,000 invention patents were granted throughout the year, marking a 15.41% year-on-year increase compared to 2022.
At such times, Chinese tech enterprises encounter multiple challenges and difficulties when applying for patents, including prolonged examination periods, heightened patent review standards, and increased cost pressures.
On March 19th, CENFO?(Suzhou)?Intellectual Property partnered with Suzhou High-tech Intellectual Property Services Co., Ltd. and the Unicorn Enterprise Association of Suzhou High-tech Zone (Huqiu District) to co-host the “Seminar on Rapid Pre-examination of Patents and Interpretation of Intellectual Property Financial Services”.?The seminar aimed to assist enterprises in understanding the latest patent-related policies, improving the qualification and approval rates of patent applications for technology enterprises, shortening the examination and authorization period of patent applications, and achieving rapid patent authorization.
Mr.?Xin?Ling,?Director?of?Policy?Project?Consulting?Team?at?CENFO (Shenzhen)?Intellectual Property,?and a Quality Reviewer in Shenzhen, along with Ms. Jingyi?Huang, Deputy Director of the Public Service Department at Suzhou High-tech Intellectual Property Services Co., Ltd., were invited as guest experts to attend and deliver specialized insights at the event.
In this?seminar,?Mr. Xin Ling emphasized the significant role of intellectual property (IP) in enterprise operation under?the new “Corporate?Law”?framework. He highlighted that IP-for-equity not only effectively alleviates shareholder investment pressure but also facilitates tax incentives and optimizes asset allocation. Furthermore, by injecting IP as equity, companies can effectively isolate risks and reduce operational uncertainties.
During the presentation, Mr. Xin Ling used practical examples to thoroughly explain the operational steps, regulatory compliance, and tax considerations of?IP-for-equity. He paid particular attention to the methods of acquiring intellectual property and its valuation, emphasizing the importance of legality and compliance. Additionally, he delved into potential legal and tax issues, providing solutions and coping strategies.?
Though this captivating presentation, participants gained a clearer understanding of how to fully utilize intellectual property for equity injection under the new “Corporate Law“?framework.

Ms. Jingyi Huang emphasized the practical issues in the filing process. She stressed that in the filing process, any entity found to have submitted false materials, engaged in abnormal application behavior, or had a poor credit record would have their filing qualifications immediately revoked.
Additionally, Ms.?Jingyi Huang provided an interpretation of intellectual property financial services, highlighting its importance in promoting the transformation and utilization of intellectual property. The services aim to help enterprises diversify their financing channels and revitalize intellectual property resources. The government of Suzhou High-tech Zone will introduce supportive policies to promote the high-quality development of intellectual property, encouraging enterprises to engage in intellectual property pledges, insurance, licensing, transactions, and other activities related to the utilization of intellectual property achievements.
At the end of the seminar, participants engaged in lively discussions on various topics, including the considerations for technology investment in equity, the attribution of personal intellectual property investment in equity, and the issues encountered during the equity investment or capital increase process.
