DoD and Miami Tech Leaders Forging New Pathways for Defense

OSBP Director Mr. Farooq Mitha was recently in Miami for events with business and defense leaders.

Mr. Mitha joined a roundtable with Miami’s business, government, and defense tech leaders. The discussion built on the connections forged earlier this year with Miami’s innovative ecosystem, including the new Rapid Innovation Accelerator for defense-focused venture capitalists.

In addition to the roundtable, Mr. Mitha attended the U.S. Southern Command Change of Command ceremony for U.S. Navy Adm. Alvin Holsey, who assumed command from General Laura J. Richardson , who retired following a distinguished 38-year military career.

At the ceremony, Mr. Mitha met with General CQ Brown, Jr. , Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro , among other defense and technology leaders. These conversations highlighted OSBP’s work advancing innovation through the DoD Miami Tech Hub—an initiative to harness South Florida’s vibrant technology and innovation landscape.
