Empowering People @ Work
I strongly believe that empowering people helps you fetch more productivity at workplace and creatives lot of happiness and positivity around.
2 important touch points,
1- How open are we, rather how evolved are we as a nation to adapt to Flexi-working hours... majority of our organisations are into 9-6 or 9:30 to 6:30 kinda work culture .. is this the best way to get 100% productivity from our people or empowering them to have some flexibility, ensuring that they are spending quality time in office and even with family. Is flexibility linked to productivity ?
2- Why do we have fixed lunch hours, fixed break timings, timing to use recreational area, time predefined for almost everything... y can't we provide freedom to eat, freedom to work, freedom to play, freedom to have a tea/coffee to our workforce, whenever they feel like... if we empower our employees, will they not perform better, will they not feel that ownership of delivering whatever is required, will they not transform to better individuals and more organised human beings.
Their is much more to write and debate on "Empowering people" however i am keeping it short and crisp for people to read and share their views & experiences.....Can we evolve to next-gen thinking as a nation.

7 年I have been into human resource for a couple of years now and i truly agree with this idea. I believe that work should not be time dependent but task dependent. We should allot tasks to people at the start of the work week and assess their completion by the end of the week instead of measuring productivity by number of hours billed by the employee.

7 年I believe, people are more productive if they feel comfortable at workplace. We have seen many examples where such employees have taken ownership to complete their task. Only thing for which I am worried that flexible timings shouldn't encourage late coming and late sitting environment. It will spoil work life balance in long run.
