Over the last few years, I've grown from a digital marketing intern to a senior manager at PalUpNow!. This journey has allowed me to meet many people and support various causes, as helping others has always been my main goal. At PalUpNow!, I was introduced to several nonprofits, including the Mwangaza Bidii Project. As I learned more about their missions, I became committed to supporting their efforts, believing that even the smallest contribution can lead to significant opportunities and accelerate our collective goals. Through this I also got to meet Mr Wallace Karira Muraya, the founder of Mwangaza Bidii Project,? who helps PalUpNow! scale and grow in Kenya.
One of the nonprofits that PalUpNow! supports is the Mwangaza Bidii Project in the Githurai sub-county of Kiambu County, Kenya, East Africa. The Mwangaza Bidii Project is an initiative that improves lives in underserved areas in Kenya through education, economic growth, and sustainable developments. This project uses deliberate ways to enhance educational programs and facilitate collaboration. The use of the internet through local internet cafes is expensive but because of it, the project is able to achieve more. It also advocates for people to start their own businesses, helping boost local economies. They work closely with local communities, ensuring that its efforts are well-aligned with their needs. By donating, you are investing in the empowerment of these communities, supporting both immediate needs and long-term development.
As part of its commitment to community development, the Mwangaza Bidii Project nurtures Ethical Traveling. This promotes respect and support for local communities by allowing the travelers to engage with and contribute to the local economy in meaningful ways, minimizing their environmental impact. This approach aligns with the project's broader goals of empowerment and sustainable development, ensuring that tourism benefits are shared equitably with the host communities.?
Recently, I decided to take larger steps to support this cause, starting with donating to the Mwangaza Bidii Project. During a conversation with Kaushiki Sen, our Director of Operations for Ontario, Canada, I realized the profound impact even minimal help could have. I encourage others to spread the word about this project. As members of developed nations, we have a responsibility to support less developed areas, and contributions to Mwangaza Bidii can significantly aid in breaking the cycle of poverty in parts of Kenya.
I had the opportunity to discuss future plans with Mr. Wallace, the project's founder, and an Incoming Area Manager at PalUpNow!. Having a discussion with him gave me much more deeper insights about the current situation that they are in. Mr Wallace provided me with a detailed overview of the project and the list of liabilities and expenses which helped me understand what had to be done to help them. In my perspective our conversations were just the beginning of our collaboration as friends. His vision for a safer, thriving Africa encouraged me to follow his path and strengthened our partnership. Hence I decided to attempt my hardest to support him and his cause.?
