Empowering industries with real-time communications: Announcing the new Oracle Enterprise Communications Platform

Today marks an incredible milestone for our team at Oracle Communications that has been 4 years in the making.

When I first joined, we developed a vision as a team. We wanted to create a communications platform that could act as a catalyst for the development of communications enabled Oracle applications across all our different industries solutions. To construct the vehicle that would enable Oracle to accelerate the transformation of industries with real-time communication – not exactly a small undertaking.

Which is why I’m particularly honored to announce we have launched the new Oracle Enterprise Communications Platform (ECP), our latest innovation delivering real-time, secure, reliable, communications to industry applications.

What is Oracle ECP?

Oracle ECP is simplifying how different industries connect, communicate, and control?all of?their connected and digital assets. It is essentially the bridge between the digital and the physical worlds of connected devices.

Built on the high performance and security of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), ECP acts as the communications backbone and edge-architecture that all other industry verticals can build their applications on top of.

Seamlessly integrated, interoperable, and cloud-based, our new ECP can be used to connect IoT and mobile devices over public and private communications networks to enrich cloud services for unique and evolving new industry use cases. We’re already seeing incredible impact in the way industries such as healthcare, the public sector, hospitality, and energy and water are using this platform to help solve some of their biggest challenges.

Take for example, ECP’s role in Oracle’s Public Safety suite. It is providing secure real-time communications for critical use cases where every second counts – connecting police and fire emergency dispatch command centers and first aid squads - able to identify and merge multiple calls, or verify the incident location in a blended map view. ECP Edge also enables mobile video capture from dashboard mounted tablets, body cameras, security cameras, and external vehicle cameras.

The power of access to real-time information has already revolutionized the telecommunications industry. Now we have a chance to change the industrial world around us. But in order to help other industry verticals leverage these incredible advances in technology like 5G-enabled IoT, they required an interoperable, flexible, and scalable platform that could easily integrate into their existing technology stacks.

This launch has been years in the making with Oracle experts collectively working across different industries, job functions, and regions around the world toward one vision of an Enterprise Communications Platform for Industries. I want to extend a huge thank you and congratulations to everyone involved in this remarkable undertaking.

The launch of Oracle ECP represents a significant opportunity not only for our business, but also for how the world communicates, interacts, and engages. I couldn’t be prouder of what we have accomplished, and I am honored to be a part of the Oracle journey we are on right now.
