"Empowering a Greener Future: IIM Lucknow Noida Campus Hosts SANRAKSHAN2023 Business Sustainability Conclave"

*Noida, Uttar Pradesh, July 29-30, 2023 -* Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIML) successfully hosted SANRAKSHAN 2023, a landmark Business Sustainability Conclave, over two impactful days at the IIM Lucknow Noida Campus. The conclave brought together esteemed thought leaders, industry experts, and stakeholders, fostering discussions on vital sustainability topics and driving the mission of a greener and responsible corporate world.
*Day 1 - 29th July, 2023*
The conclave's inauguration commenced with great enthusiasm and participation. The Chief Guest, Mr. Ashish Tiwari, Honorable Secretary, Department of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of Uttar Pradesh, graced the event with his presence, emphasizing the significance of sustainability in regional development.
The day began with a panel discussion on the role of ESG strategies in mitigating climate risks. Mr. Abhishek Ranjan from Brillio said that ESG strategies are essential for businesses that want to mitigate their climate risks. Ms. Shruti Goel from Accenture S&C said that ESG strategies are not just about mitigating risks, they can also create new opportunities for businesses.
Next, Mr. Anirban Mujkherjee from BCG gave a keynote on energy transitions. He argued that India needs to accelerate its energy transition in order to meet its climate goals. He also said that there are a number of opportunities for businesses to get involved in the energy transition.
The conclave continued with the Sustainable Startup Fair, where startups showcased innovative ideas and solutions for a sustainable future. Entrepreneurs and visitors engaged in meaningful discussions, fostering collaborations for sustainable growth.
*Panel Discussion 2* delved into the "Significance of Sustainable Supply Chain in Achieving Net Zero," featuring esteemed panelists Mr. Allan Rodrigues from SpringLab, Mr. Anand Krishna Murthy from Envint, Mr. Abhishek Jani from Fairtrade India, and Ms. Avantika Garg from PPAC, MoPNG, GOI.
*Panel Discussion 3* centered on "Embedding Sustainability in Organization Policies and Culture," with insights shared by Mr. Ashutosh Chadha from Microsoft, Ms. Sangeeta Robinson from PVR, Mr. Lalit Sheoran from Vistara Airlines, and Mr. Yogendra Saxena, Former Group CSO of Tata Power.
The *International Keynote 1* by Mr. CB Bhattacharya, H.J. Zoffer Chair in Sustainability and Ethics at the University of Pittsburgh, emphasized "Small Actions Big Difference: From Whether to How in Corporate Sustainability."
The day concluded with *International Keynote 2* delivered by Mr. Joshua Lincoln, Senior Fellow at Fletcher School's Centre for International Law & Governance, focusing on "Vulnerability, Cooperation & Competition: Global Governance Implications of Net Zero Transition."
*Day 2 - 30th July, 2023*
The second day witnessed equally engaging sessions and panel discussions, further enriching the conclave's purpose.
*Keynote 2* featured Mr. Nitin Mishra from Havells India, Mr. Akshaya Rath from Ecoex, and Prof. Satyabhusan Dash from IIM Lucknow, exploring the potential of the circular economy for a sustainable future.
*Panel Discussion 4* delved into "Challenges in Plastic Waste Management: Lessons from India," with Ms. Rachna Arora from GIZ, Dr. Ashish Chaturvedi from UNDP, Ms. Shivangi Aggarwal from Karo Sambhav, and Ms. Pavithra Mohanraj from Infinitive sharing valuable lessons.
