Renault has officially launched the Mobilize Power V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) service in France
Renault has officially introduced the Mobilize Power V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) service in France. Beginning September 25th, Renault 5 electric and Alpine A290 owners can order the bidirectional Mobilize PowerBox Verso, enabling V2G functionality that allows electric vehicles to return energy to the grid. This technology supports V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) by enabling smarter energy consumption and improving grid stability. In addition, customers can subscribe to an electricity contract with rates 22% lower than the regulated tariff, further promoting sustainable energy usage. These developments align with the ongoing advancements in OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) to support seamless integration with EV charging infrastructure.
EnergyHub: Managed EV charging reduces utility costs and balances the grid
EnergyHub has released new data showcasing the significant benefits of managed EV charging programs for utilities. These programs optimize grid demand by coordinating EV charging with energy availability, leading to lower operational costs and improved energy efficiency. The data emphasizes how managed charging enables electric vehicles to act as distributed energy resources (DERs), helping utilities balance grid load more effectively. By leveraging smart charging solutions and aligning EV charging with grid needs, utilities can maximize efficiency and lower costs for both operators and consumers. Enel X Way to exit North American EV charging market
@Enel X Way has announced it will stop its EV charging business in the U.S. and Canada by October 11, 2024. This decision comes as the company shifts its focus to regions where it can bundle EV charging with electricity retail services. While residential JuiceBox chargers will continue basic operation, all software support will be discontinued. The company is working to ensure a smooth transition for customers and partners.
