Empowering Future Scientists: QEERI Internship Experience

At the Qatar Environment & Energy Research Institute - QEERI , fostering young talent and nurturing aspiring scientists are integral to our mission. Our different internship programs offer a platform for emerging researchers to thrive and excel in their fields.

16 young researchers, with different educational levels and backgrounds, completed their internship period at QEERI. They worked closely with scientists on a variety of topics, spanning from energy modeling to carbon capture.

Aya Abousrafa , a Ph.D. candidate, valued the program's dedication to not only academic excellence but also immersive learning and corporate exposure while highlighting her enriching experience during her internship at QEERI.

Throughout her internship, Aya delved into computational fluid dynamic modeling of pollutant dispersion, under the guidance of Dr. Abdulkarem Ibrahim Amhamed, CEng FIChemE PhD , and Dr. Odi Fawwaz Alrebei . The program, thoughtfully curated and executed, provided Aya and other interns with a blend of theoretical insights and practical applications, laying a strong foundation within a concise two-month timeframe.

This internship journey equipped all interns with technical skills and broadened their perspectives on research initiatives undertaken across the institute. Such internship programs provide substantive and educational value for aspiring researchers seeking practical learning opportunities. their contribution appeared in 9 research papers set for publishing.
