Empowering the Future of Malaysia's Oil & Gas Sector: Unveiling the OGSE Technology Network (OGTEN)

In a rapidly evolving energy landscape, a robust and collaborative framework is essential for the Oil & Gas, Services, and Equipment (OGSE) sector. The National OGSE Industry Blueprint? (OGSE Blueprint) 2021-2030 has identified technology as one of the levers to elevate local companies to high-tech leaders and regional powerhouses.

Aligning with this OGSE Blueprint, Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC) has launched the OGSE Technology Network (OGTEN), a pioneering initiative to drive innovation and technology adoption in Malaysia's OGSE sector. OGTEN serves as a collaborative hub, leveraging the strengths of government, industry, supply chain, solution providers and the academic and research communities to address challenges and uncover innovative solutions through shared knowledge, resources and facilities.

Key Pillars of Collaboration?

While fostering collaboration between Industry & Academia, the OGTEN framework aims to address key challenges as follows:??

1. Funding & Investment: Recognising the capital-intensive nature of the OGSE sector, OGTEN seeks to create awareness of various funding and investment processes and opportunities for innovation and technology adoption.?

2. Talent/Experts: At the heart of any industry lies its talent pool. OGTEN is dedicated to nurturing and harnessing the expertise within the OGSE sector. Through partnerships with universities and training institutions, the platform aims to facilitate the development of a skilled workforce equipped with the latest technological and operational competencies so that Malaysia remains at the forefront of OGSE sector advancements.?
