Empowering Female Founders From Ukraine - Building An Economy In Waiting

The resilience and strength of a nation often lie in the hands of its people, especially during times of adversity. For the past year, we have been working with inspiring female founders from Ukraine, supporting them with a programme of online training, webinars and coaching. After running a pilot, we have redesigned our programme and now launching our second iteration. This programme is delivered over an 8 week period and open to Ukrainian Female Founders wherever they are currently situated at no cost to the participant.

Why do we do this?

Ukraine is a country that has faced extreme challenges over many years, and the current war may not seem the right time to run training programmes. However, the Chinese Proverb "The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best time is now" seems appropriate. We believe that one powerful way to support the recovery and growth of Ukraine is by empowering female founders to become entrepreneurs. Not only does this pave the way for economic progress, but it also bolsters the country's social fabric and paves the way for a brighter future.

?? Fostering Economic Growth: Female entrepreneurs play a pivotal role in driving economic growth and innovation. By supporting Ukrainian women in their entrepreneurial endeavors, we are investing in a future where businesses can flourish, jobs can be created, and local economies can prosper. These women bring unique perspectives and skills to the table, contributing to a diverse and vibrant business landscape that can help steer the country toward a more stable and prosperous future.

???? ?? ???? Breaking Gender Stereotypes: Empowering female founders challenges traditional gender roles and stereotypes, fostering a culture of inclusivity and equality. By showcasing successful female entrepreneurs as role models, we can inspire young girls and women across Ukraine to pursue their dreams, irrespective of societal norms. This cultural shift not only empowers women economically but also paves the way for a more progressive and equitable society.

???? Building Stronger Communities: When women succeed as entrepreneurs, they often reinvest in their communities. From supporting local initiatives to providing mentorship and opportunities for others, female founders contribute to the social fabric of their society. This ripple effect can lead to the development of close-knit, supportive communities that are better equipped to weather the challenges posed by conflict and strife.

??? Diversifying Industries: Female entrepreneurs have the potential to diversify industries and drive innovation across sectors. By bringing fresh ideas and unique perspectives, they contribute to the evolution of markets and can lead the way in adopting new technologies and practices.

?? Catalyzing National Recovery: We all look to a time when the bombing stops and the physical rebuilding begins. Female entrepreneurs can play a vital role in this process by contributing to job creation, economic stability, and sustainable development. By offering opportunities for women to start and grow businesses, we can accelerate Ukraine's journey toward recovery and pave the way for a more promising future.

Already we have seen members of our previous cohorts grow their businesses, secure funding, employ additional staff from Ukraine and a couple have decided to move back to their home country to begin the rebuilding now.

We now have two main requirements:

1 - recruit new members for our programme starting in Sept

2 - funding to expand further, please contact me for more details

Dear Elaine, while I fully appreciate the program you're running for Ukrainian female founders, as a Ukrainian by origin, I feel crossed when I read your line 'Ukraine has been facing a FAIR share of its challenges...'. Please do not get offended, still, that comment of yours is deeply insensitive and, in fact, unfair towards Ukraine and Ukrainians.. What Ukraine has been facing, in the circumstance, cannot be called 'fair', rather 'awfully unfair' from whatever angle you look at it... UKRAINE HAS BEEN BRUTALLY AND UNJUSTLY INVAIDED BY A HOSTILE NEIGHBOUR STATE with Ukrainians being killed, raped, looted, kidnapped, by force moved to a hostile state territory with our hospitals, churches, museums, culture, language and very identity being brutally targeted. The number of Ukrainians who lost their legs and/or arms in this Russo-Ukrainian war is compared to the numbers from World War One. And you refer to it 'fair share of challenges...' and you target Ukrainians as your target audience... Wink wink... Thank you for taking it on board. Best Wishes, Nataliya Johnson
