“Historically, these types of tech products have not been developed with doctors in mind, which is why we were determined to engage with clinicians when designing HealthONE,” says Nicolette.

“We wanted to understand doctors’ pain points and to get to the bottom of why some clinicians are still reluctant to move over from pen and paper to a digital system. We learned about clinicians’ workflows and the systems they used to treat their patients. We came to understand that each doctor has their way of working and that our product needs to fit in with that.”?

In order to leverage global EHR experiences and lessons in best practice, work-class software developers were brought on to design and build HealthONE. The development team, in collaboration with clinicians, were pulled into these design sessions to help address the doctors’ various preferences and pain points, down to even the positioning of certain buttons on the user interface.?
