Empowering Companies Globally Through Neurodiversity

Empowering Companies Globally Through Neurodiversity

A Note From Our CEO

Greetings from Texas!

I hope this note finds you all doing well.

We are looking forward to a great discussion with some amazing women on the 27th.? These are leaders in the field of neurodiversity who bring a wealth of experience from around the world.? While everyone has their own story to tell, I am struck by the common experiences we all share.? The differences as we move from country to country are certainly significant.? So too are the universal aspects of our shared experience.?

I’ll be leading a discussion on this very topic next month in Las Vegas at the Disability:IN conference there.? I hope to share that, while cultural and regulatory variances exist, each country we’ve been to has the same underutilized neurodistinct population looking for a fair shot at making impact and navigating their careers.? Every employer can take a few simple steps to better leverage this community.? And they can all benefit from improved recruiting, retention and employer brand metrics when they do.?

At a time when some seek to highlight what can divide us, giving this community a fair shot at meaningful employment is something we can and should all get behind – regardless of where you call home.?

Onward!?

Jeff?

Potentia Supports Neurodiversity in Washington DC

Last month, Potentia Workforce was honored to participate in the 6th annual Neurodiversity at Work Research Conference in Washington D.C.

The conference brings together leading scholars, neurodivergent leaders, neurodiversity practitioners, and learning neurodiversity employers concerned with advancing neurodiversity employment research. The event focused on various aspects related to the preparation, recruitment, persistence, and advancement of ND individuals in the workplace.

With inclusion at the forefront of this thoughtfully planned event, the photo above features pins conference participants were encouraged to wear according to their communication preferences:

?? Green: Actively seeking communication

?? Yellow: Willing to communicate with people they recognize

?? Purple: Prefers not to be approached by people unless they have communicated otherwise

Potentia thanks all involved in an impactful week, and Hala Annabi of University of Washington Information School, Andrew Begal of Carnegie Mellon University, and Kathy Dow-Burger of University of Maryland for their tireless work and thoughtful approach to neuroinclusion.
