Empowering Communities through Integrated Homestead Farming
At Story Workshop Educational Trust (SWET), we believe in the power of local solutions to combat malnutrition and promote food security. One shining example is Enock Mpaseya, the Group Village Headman of Taulo under Traditional Authority Ngwelero In Phalombe District Malawi. Mpaseya has become a champion for integrated homestead farming in his community.
With over 25 years of experience in implementing nutrition-related initiatives, SWET has successfully engaged community leaders like Mr. Mpaseya to inspire and advocate for sustainable farming practices. Through our partnerships, we empower local leaders to develop actionable plans that drive change.
Mr. Mpaseya’s integrated homestead farming model combines crop cultivation and livestock rearing, creating an eco-system that supports both food diversity and income generation. His approach not only enhances nutrition for his family but also encourages his neighbors to adopt similar practices, creating a ripple effect of health and prosperity in the community.
We’re excited to see how this initiative can expand with the support of more players in the sector. Together, we can drive sustainable solutions that transform lives and communities. Join us in championing local solutions to global challenges! ???
