Empowering Collaboration: Insights from Atlassian Team'23

Empowering Collaboration: Insights from Atlassian Team'23

We are back from Atlassian Team’23 with exciting news!

We were fortunate enough to attend this incredible event last April in Las Vegas as sponsor and witness first-hand the exciting announcements and valuable insights shared by Atlassian. In this article, we can't wait to share with you the most significant takeaways and news from the conference that are shaping the future of team collaboration and the Atlassian ecosystem!

Atlassian ecosystem trends

Are you Cloud or Data Center?

If you had the chance to visit the Elements booth at the Atlassian Team'23 event, you might have come across our captivating Lego construction. Our concept was to capture the latest trends in the Atlassian ecosystem through an interactive display.

We created two zones for our construction, the first zone in white representing Data Center, and the second zone in blue representing Cloud. Visitors were invited to add their bricks to the construction based on their specific projects. We designated colors to each area of focus, white for Work Management, red for Agile, blue for ITSM, and yellow for DevOps.

The end result was quite telling, as it appeared that Cloud emerged as the clear winner, with a significant number of bricks making up the Cloud blue area. Additionally, DevOps and Agile were also well-represented with a significant number of yellow and red bricks.

Overall, the Lego construction was a fun and engaging way to evaluate the current trends in the Atlassian ecosystem. A big thank you to all attendees who participated and contributed to the final result!

Handing the mic to you!

But we didn’t stand still at our booth! We went around the venue to go and meet people, hand the mic to them, and understand their challenges, insights, and usage of Atlassian products.

We prepared a card deck full of “Atlassian and teamwork-related” questions and asked people to pick a question card and respond candidly. The questions varied from Atlassian tools, trends, the advice they would offer, and even superpowers they would like to possess ;)

For instance, Eszter Kecskés D. ’s advice to someone just starting to get involved in the Atlassian community is to attend events and talk to people. Partners, customers, and individuals from all backgrounds and positions are all approachable and friendly.

For Fabian Lopez , Atlassian Intelligence, which has just been announced during the event, is going to be a game changer in the ecosystem.

As for Maggie Norby-Adams , who is a big Confluence fan, this tool came straight away when answering the question “If you could only use one Atlassian tool for the rest of your life, which one would you choose and why?" For her, Confluence is great to structure data in a way that feels logical and to be able to communicate and collaborate in the best way possible.

We received many more fascinating and insightful answers that we will share on our LinkedIn page soon, so stay tuned!

So many Atlassian announcements!

As always, this year's Atlassian Team event was full of new products and features announcements!

Confluence Whiteboards

Confluence will have its own native whiteboarding tool! You’ll be able to brainstorm, collaborate, and diagram on an endless canvas directly inside Confluence. With Confluence Whiteboards, you can use sticky notes, shapes, stamps, stickers, timers, and a pen to come up with new ideas and collaborate as a team. Thanks to the integration with Jira, you’ll be able to convert sticky notes into Jira Cloud issues, as well as bring all your Jira issues into one view and add relationships between issues with Smart Connectors.

As announced just before Team’23, Atlassian has acquired Orderly Databases by K15t to bring databases natively into Confluence.

Confluence Databases are structured dynamic tables that will help you organize information like Jira tasks, Confluence pages, owners, due dates, statuses, and more. With real-time synchronization, you can easily refer to a specific cell, row, or the entire table from any location within Confluence, and ensure up-to-date and relevant information.

?? You can also join the waitlist for the beta coming soon.

Atlassian Intelligence

Atlassian is surfing on the AI wave with success with the introduction of Atlassian Intelligence – your new virtual teammate.

Atlassian Intelligence uses generative AI technology from OpenAI to create, summarise and extract information from content, enabling your team to accelerate their work. It will also power the JSM virtual agent to resolve help requests instantly based on its understanding of knowledge base articles. Additionally, Atlassian Intelligence will provide an on-demand dictionary to explain highlighted terms, as well as give an instant answer to a question, based on content in Confluence.

Atlassian Analytics is a visualization platform that powers data-driven decision-making across teams, with connections to Atlassian data (Atlassian Data Lake) and multiple external data sources. For example, with Atlassian Analytics, you can track key metrics and understand the usage of spaces, pages, and more.
