Empowering Abused and Vulnerable Children in Zimbabwe
In Zimbabwe, the plight of young children facing abuse and neglect paints a harrowing picture of the challenges within the child protection system. With approximately 50% of births unregistered, the state's ability to safeguard these young lives is severely compromised. The statistics are alarming: two-thirds of the country's children endure some form of violence or abuse, and a staggering one-third of girls under 18 fall victims to sexual violence. These experiences often lead to teen pregnancies and early marriages, perpetuating a cycle of vulnerability.
Amidst this crisis, the beacon of hope shines through specialised education programs tailored for children from these hard-hit backgrounds. Our initiative supports a private school dedicated to nurturing up to 100 children who have faced life's toughest challenges. By fostering a safe and supportive learning environment, we offer more than just education; we provide a sanctuary where healing begins, and potential thrives.
