As we step into women’s history month, it is time to celebrate the contributions of women in our collective history and act to inspire and empower women globally.?Because as RGB said, we belong in all places where decisions are being made. I won’t bring up gender and pay parity data in this article because honestly, we are beyond explaining and proving that women need equal opportunities to learn, grow, and lead for businesses, community, and world to be a better place.

I do however want to talk about taking action to empower women. I want to talk about how to move forward from here. How do we empower women to discover, visualize and actualize their success – success that is defined by them and not by society? I want to talk about community, connection, competency, and celebration.

• ?Community: Our #eWOWfamily which now spans over 5 continents was an idea born out of the need to take action in November 2018. In last 3 years, this community has grown and each one of us has grown with it. A strong network of women and allies who support each other and open doors of opportunities. I am excited to share that based on popular demand, the eWOW Facebook group is now live. It is open for all women and allies to join and contribute. I invite you to join the #eWOWfamily and be part of the conversation.
• Connection: For decades, women have been over mentored and under sponsored. Everyone wants to mentor women on how to lead but very few give them a chance to lead. When?Shweta M?and I started?eWOW, we were determined to open the doors of opportunities for women leaders. So while designing the concept for eWOW virtual summits, we reserved spots for first-time speakers, first-time award winners (and encouraged self-nominations for eWOW awards) and first-time professionals. Candice Quadros, Director at Roku was a first-time speaker at eWOW 2020 virtual summit and is a great example of how eWOW has been empowering women to define and actualize their success. See her success story here. There are many firsts this year too. We are so proud to extend the opportunity to first time speaker?Jade Duncan?to speak at the eWOW 2022 Virtual Summit. We are also excited to extend a student-leadership opportunity to Vanessa D'souza, an aspiring digital marketing analyst at eWOW to build her brand. And Alley Lyles-Jenkins who will emcee the entire summit this year.
• Competency: To succeed, women need more than leadership competencies. They need to build financial acumen, understand how to combat micro aggressions, learn how to invest, bring ideas to life, and build a framework for their happiness. I invite you to join us at eWOW 2022 virtual summit and eWOW’s future events to learn all about these and more. ?And if you are an ally, you are welcome to attend as well. Bring along your teams!
• ?Celebration: When was the last time you celebrated yourself or a woman leader? Why should you wait for others to nominate you for awards when you can tell your story the best? I invite you to nominate yourself or other women leaders for the eWOW 2022 Global Awards under 3 categories: Technology Leadership, Entrepreneurship Excellence, and Diversity and Culture Leadership. The award ceremony will be held on April 23, 2022 at the eWOW 2022 Virtual Summit. These awards recognize women leaders for their exemplary achievements, leadership, and contribution in their field and impact on the society. The last day to submit nominations is March 15, 2022. When we?celebrate?the leaders of today, we inspire the leaders of tomorrow!
