Women PowerUP Network - Admin
A global network of individuals where we believe everyone has some unique skill. We just PowerUP!
Who are we?
A global network of individuals who believe that everyone has some unique skill. We just PowerUP! Here’s presenting a group of passionate individuals (of all genders) who are positive, with a make-it-happen and lead-by-example attitude. A peer-to-peer network to support and PowerUP each other! Do I need to be an expert to be a part of this group? NO. We do not need to be experts to PowerUP each other. We just need to be good enough; Good enough to own up to our limitations, be willing to respond to others, and be social and acceptable.
Leader's speak?-?Marjana Skubic
Let me tell you my mentoring story. My father was my mentor at a time when I didn’t even go to school. Some practiced sports, play with dolls and I was figuring out what I should do on my development part to have more success in the far distant future. It was all so easy to hear, and way too hard to accomplish. Then came years of overcoming obstacles and getting lost on the sideways. Sometimes I wonder, was it just a waste of precious time? - No, never!
Almost all the directors I spoke to first asked me: who is your mentor? Not if I have one, but what is the real name and surname. I am sorry to tell you, but Tony Robins doesn't count. So, who is a mentor? Mentor is someone in whom you see the future part of you. ?To see this, you need to know yourself very well, have a strong motivation for change, and make a list of long-term goals to achieve. Then be prepared to take small, supervised steps. Don’t confuse mentor with the person you lean on when it’s hard. A mentor is someone who enrolls you in a seminar, buys you a book, and tells you that you suck at things you think you’re good at.
After a long while, mentor admits to you that you're doing better than him. Choose your mentor carefully, develop faster, be grateful for help. But never be without one. You will appreciate it.

There are many voices whispering at the back of our minds that guide and encourage us to support our endeavours. These are the voices of the people who have touched our lives in one way or the other, at some point of time where it was their wisdom and experience that gave us confidence to move ahead. This issue of ‘Empowered’ talks about the Mentors that enable us not only through their leadership but also with the faith that impacts.
