Who we are?
A global network of individuals where we believe everyone has some unique skill. We just PowerUP!
We consist of a group of passionate individuals (of all genders) who are positive, with make-it-happen and lead-by-example attitudes. A peer-to-peer network to support and PowerUP each other! Do I need to be an expert to be a part of this group? NO. We just need to be good enough. Good enough to own up to our limitations, be willing to respond to others, and be social and acceptable.

LEADER'S SPEAK: Resilient Leadership in Times of Crisis: AI's Contribution to Crisis Management and Recover, Grace Johnson Africa Lead Women PowerUP Network
In a world that never seems to slow down, crises have become a part of life. From the global pandemic to economic shocks, natural disasters, and everything in between, we’ve all been tested. It’s a VUCA world! The question is no longer if we’ll face a crisis, but when and how we’ll rise to meet it. As leaders, we don’t just want to survive these challenges, we want to come out stronger, more resilient, and ready for whatever comes next.
?At Women PowerUp Network, we know that leadership in tough times requires grit, empathy, and flexibility. But let’s face it, leading through a crisis can feel overwhelming. That’s where technology, and specifically Artificial Intelligence (AI), steps in to lighten the load.
?AI Can Help Us Lead in a Crisis
Imagine a major crisis hits, whether it’s a pandemic, a natural disaster, technological advancement or an economic downturn. Suddenly, decisions that used to take weeks need to be made in minutes. Resources are stretched thin, information is scattered, and every second counts. This sounds like the scenario in 2020 with the Covid-19 pandemic. This is where AI comes in as your secret weapon. With its ability to process massive amounts of data at lightning speed, AI helps us cut through the noise and see the big picture.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, for example, AI helped governments and organizations predict the spread of the virus, allocate resources like ventilators and PPE, and even fast-track the development of vaccines.
“As Covid-19 vaccines roll out, getting economies and societies back to normal after the worst of the pandemic has passed will depend on collaboration between industry and the public sector and harnessing the power of data and technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI).” - FT
What Happens After the Crisis?
Surviving the crisis is one thing, but resilient and collaborative?? leadership is about what we do next. Once the storm passes, how do we rebuild? How do we recover stronger, faster, and more prepared for the future? AI is a game changer here, too. It helps us map out the road to recovery by analysing what worked, what didn’t, and where we can improve. In disrupted markets, AI can identify opportunities for growth, streamline supply chains, and help businesses pivot to meet new demands.
Think about the companies that survived, or even thrived during the pandemic. Many of them used AI to transform their operations, whether it was shifting to remote work, creating new product lines, or finding ways to serve customers in new ways. AI didn’t just help them survive, it helped them evolve. But collaborative and resilient leadership was at the heart of it all.
Leading with Resilience and Innovation.
The crises of today won’t be the last we face, but they offer us a unique opportunity to redefine what leadership looks like. Resilient leadership isn’t about going back to the way things were it’s about creating something better. It’s about leading with heart and vision, backed by the best tools available, including AI.
?As we look ahead, let’s embrace AI as our ally in leadership. It’s not about having all the answers; it’s about being willing to adapt, to keep learning, and to rise to the challenge. With AI by our side, we can lead our teams through the toughest times and build a future that’s stronger, more inclusive, and more resilient than ever.
?And remember, being good enough is super amazing!
