Women PowerUP Network - Admin

A global network of individuals where we believe everyone has some unique skill. We just PowerUP!

Who we are?

A global network of individuals where we believe everyone has some unique skill. We just PowerUP!

We consist of a group of passionate individuals (of all genders) who are positive, with make-it-happen and lead-by-example attitudes. A peer-to-peer network to support and PowerUP each other! Do I need to be an expert to be a part of this group? NO. We just need to be good enough. Good enough to own up to our limitations, be willing to respond to others, and be social and acceptable.

LEADER'S SPEAK: Collaborative Leadership and Strategic Partnership Cecilia Boggi Latin America Lead Women PowerUP Network

It will soon be one year since the publication of the book "Female Leadership: Inspiring, Empowering and Breaking Barriers", a book that reflects the experiences, reflections, research, and recommendations to respect diversity, promote inclusion and learn from the past, to build a more equitable future.

?The most interesting thing about this book is not the result itself, although very valuable, but the process of creation: a collaborative project that arose as an initiative of the Community of Interest of Women's Leadership, was sponsored by the PMI Buenos Aires Chapter and received the support of the Brazilian organization Jornada Colaborativa, in which 30 co-authors from 13 Latin American countries participated, with different backgrounds, professional backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences.

?This collaborative creation process has been a learning experience for everyone, and especially for the writer, with the role of team leader.

?From the strategic partnership with the organization "Jornada Colaborativa", we had training in the way of working and the transmission of the vast experience of similar projects, thanks to which our project flowed smoothly.

?From the beginning, the team was characterized by respect and appreciation of diversity, and collective creativity was enhanced. The content, structure, responsibilities, and deadlines of the different chapters were defined from brainstorming sessions. We have shared anecdotes, concerns, and obstacles. We have helped each other to meet the objectives. We empowered our work by adopting artificial intelligence for research and material searching, documentation and reviews, and collaboration tools.

?Could each of us have done it independently?

Probably yes, but it would have taken us much longer and the result would not have had the same variety and richness.

?Could we have done it without the strategic alliance between Jornada Collaborative and PMI Buenos Aires Chapter?

Yes, of course, but the learning process would have been much slower, and we would have encountered obstacles that we have overcome with this alliance, thanks to the experience and support of its members.

?What challenges have arisen along the way?

Obviously, like any project, we have had to overcome some difficulties, typical of cultural differences: each Latin American country has its own culture, and even those who speak Spanish, have different vocabulary and customs.

People from Jornada Colaborativa, being originally from Brazil, speak Portuguese, creating a difficulty in communication, adding to the cultural difference, with different ways of working.

All the co-authors have dedicated hours of volunteering, in addition to their jobs, taking time away from their families and rest. Each one has different personal, work, and family situations, influencing their ability to dedicate themselves. This has generated some deviations, which have had to be covered with the extra collaboration of other people, in order not to stray away from our objectives.

In addition, not all people had the same capacity and knowledge regarding writing, use of technology and research experience.

?How do we overcome these difficulties?

Mainly, with a deep-rooted spirit of collaboration, flexibility, and mutual assistance. Forming a true work team.

On the other hand, understanding and respecting cultural differences and looking for ways to enhance the exchange of knowledge in the established strategic alliances.

?As a result, beyond the achievement of our goal which was the publication of our collaborative book, the most valuable thing we have obtained has been the formation of a network of exceptional people who, through collaborative work, have generated a bond of trust, respect, support and a beautiful friendship.

?As the leader of this collaborative project, I’ve gained the satisfaction of having been a bridge to achieve the best of each one of the authors and reviewers who participated and take away a unique learning: collaborative leadership and strategic partnership, enhanced with the appropriate tools, are the way to develop creativity, effectiveness and the generation of surprising results in which everyone benefits.

SPECIAL FEATURE: The Volunteering Journey to Project Leadership

Yasmina Khelifi, PMP, PMI-ACP, PMI-PBA Mayte Mata Sivera

"I am a true proponent of the word 'Volunesia', meaning: a moment when you forget that you're volunteering to help change lives because it's changing yours.’, told Priya Patra , the founder of the Women PowerUP Network in The Volunteering Journey to Project Leadership, published by CRC Press and co-authored by Mayte Mata Sivera and Yasmina Khelifi.

Just like the inspiring volunteers who shared their journey in this book, Priya has discovered that volunteering isn't just about giving back—it's about growing into a better leader. The authors, too, had experienced this transformative journey and wanted to share the knowledge they wished they'd had when they started volunteering. To truly capture the impact of volunteering, they interviewed over 100 volunteers worldwide, uncovering how this powerful experience can sharpen leadership skills, expand networks, and open doors to new fields of expertise.

The book is structured in three parts:

●?????? Part I: Enhance your project leadership by volunteering.

●?????? Part II: Develop skills, network, and explore new fields.

●?????? Part III: Plan your career development by volunteering.

Readers can relate to, discover, and reflect on their aspiring or current volunteering roles in bite-sized chapters.

More information is on the book’s website .

Community Thought Leadership - Collaborative Leadership in a Networked World: AI's Role in Building Strategic Partnerships

Jonathan Sacks, in his quote, argues that ‘’in our connected world, we must learn to feel enlarged, not threatened, by our differences’’. This reminds us of one of the benefits of our now very networked world where people, content, ideas, and virtually anything is accessible through the web. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an unexpected ally, enhancing the way we network, build relationships, and collaborate.

This study examines how AI technologies are being deployed to facilitate collaborative leadership and foster strategic partnerships in both public and private sectors across different continents. The article examines how AI technologies reshape collaboration and partnership-building in business ecosystems. It discusses AI-powered matchmaking platforms for strategic alliances, blockchain for transparent and secure transactions, and the potential of AI-driven predictive analytics for identifying partnership opportunities. The findings underscore the potential of AI to transform organizational dynamics, facilitate cross-sector collaboration, and address complex global challenges through enhanced cooperation and data-driven decision-making.
