Did you know that despite significant investments, the McKinsey Analytics survey revealed that only 8% of organisations are able to effectively scale their analytics operations and derive substantial value from their data?
More recent surveys show that progress in data, analytics, and AI initiatives has come to a halt or, in some cases, regressed.
According to a 2023 NewVantage Partners survey, only 35.5% of organisations considered the role of Chief Data Officer (CDO) or Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO) to be successful. Surprisingly, this represents an 11.6% decline in organisational satisfaction compared to the previous year.
All these data indicate that organisations are grappling with the challenge of generating tangible business value from their investments in data.
In today's data-driven world, organisations face numerous challenges when it comes to scaling their analytics operations.
However, there is a solution that can help overcome these hurdles and empower businesses to harness the full potential of their data: software.
Software captures and aggregates data and is the catalyst for transforming how organisations approach analytics.
By leveraging the power of software, organisations can not only manage and monitor their data more effectively but also drive collaboration, enhance security, and even measure sustainability.
Let's delve into the key challenges faced by organisations and explore how software can be the means for success in analytics operations:
1.????Unlock the potential of data through efficient management
Data volume, variety, and velocity increase significantly as analytics operations scale.
Organisations need help to handle this influx of data and when they are not managed efficiently, it leads to missed opportunities.
The solution lies in leveraging software to manage data effectively, enabling better monitoring and utilisation of IT resources and energy consumption.
With software, organisations can unlock the full potential of their data, driving better insights and informed decision-making.
"Software is not just the future of business. It’s the key to unlocking limitless possibilities for innovation, growth, and success."
The vast hybrid IT environment also presents significant challenges for sophisticated CIO organisations in maintaining the resilience, security, and sustainability of their IT systems. This trend is known as Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) 3.0.
DCIM 3.0 introduces new challenges for data centre operators and CIOs, and Schneider Electric is leading the charge in empowering our customers to operate resilient, secure, and sustainable IT infrastructure, as we are modernising our DCIM solution, EcoStruxure? IT.
With our EcoStruxure? IT offering, we help organisations tackle the challenges of complex distributed IT environments and remote management.
Organisations can streamline their operations, enhance efficiency, and drive better business outcomes through software.

2.????Cross-Functional Collaboration for Success
Cross-functional collaboration is paramount for analytics success in an increasingly interconnected business landscape.
Different teams must work together seamlessly to integrate data, develop models, and translate insights into actionable business strategies.
With the right software in place, organisations can gain real-time insights and analytics, empowering teams to collaborate and make informed decisions regardless of their location.
“The future of business lies in the hands of those who master the power of Software.”
The availability of mobile apps and web functionality through the cloud ensures that teams can access critical information and monitor their infrastructure remotely - anytime, anywhere.
3.????An Ally in Security and Privacy is an Ally indeed
As analytics operations scale, the risk of data breaches and privacy violations becomes a significant concern.
Organisations need robust solutions to secure their physical infrastructure and protect against cyber-attacks.
Software can be a powerful ally in this battle, enabling organisations to safeguard their data and prevent losses.
There is a software and products that help organisations strengthen their security posture and ensure the confidentiality and integrity of their valuable data assets. EcoStruxure IT? and NetBotz from Schneider Electric serve as examples.
The app also safeguards IT infrastructure from environmental hazards that can pose a substantial risk, including temperature fluctuations, humidity levels, smoke, and water leaks.
4.????Software for Sustainability!
Software opens up an incredible opportunity for organisations to monitor and measure their sustainability efforts.
As environmental concerns continue to escalate, it has become imperative for businesses to have better visibility into their energy consumption and carbon emissions.
Organisations can gain valuable insights into crucial sustainability metrics using software such as power usage effectiveness (PUE), subsystem costs, and CO2 emissions across multiple sites.
This data-driven approach allows businesses to understand their environmental impact and make informed decisions to optimise their sustainability efforts effectively.
To support organisations in their sustainability endeavours, we introduced an enhanced EcoStruxure IT Advisor with an Energy Efficiency module. Its fundamental purpose is to streamline and simplify infrastructure management.
Cooling Optimize, a dynamic cooling software uses the power of AI to manage the cooling infrastructure to save energy, release stranded cooling capacity and improve availability.
From identifying energy-saving opportunities to implementing efficient practices, these modules act as a guiding force in the journey towards a greener and more sustainable future.
In a nutshell…
Software is a game-changer for effective analytics operations.
It empowers organisations to overcome data management challenges, foster collaboration, enhance security, and drive sustainability.
By embracing the right software solutions, businesses can unlock the true potential of analytics, make data-driven decisions, and stay ahead in today's data-driven business landscape.
