Meet Dr. Legand Burge, Platform Speaker on Friday, May 21, 2021 for The New America, strategic education & entrepreneurship leadership learning academy's National Security Awareness & Preparedness Seminar to be held at the Adam Herbert University Center on the campus of University of North Florida, beginning promptly at 7:45 am EST to 3:00 pm EST.

Legand L. Burge, Jr.

Dr. Legand L. Burge, Jr. serves as advisor and consultant for LLBurge&Associates, LLC,

with experience in comprehensive performance support and assurance of customer

success that includes communications with confidence. He has aided communities during

the pandemic in acquisition of supplies, personnel training and business development.

As a colonel in the US Air Force, he demonstrated skill in analyzing and reporting project

cost, progress data and status of operations. He has managed a diverse and

decentralized set of partners with compliance for contractual activities along with

collaborative management for team success, training, administration, professional

development, and readiness. Burge has knowledge of federal and state requirements for

program approvals of public and private institutions of higher learning as a key

administrator. As dean of engineering, he has assessed and evaluated facility

requirements for space, equipment, materials, and staffing for accreditation criteria; and,

data collection for compliance to avoid fraud, waste and abuse of government resources,

funding and risk avoidance.

Burge is a veteran who placed his footprint on federal, state, and higher education in the

acquisition and management of resources. He recently led the Census Bureau’s signature

program as partnership specialist, which impacted 138 superintendents, 1,530 principals,

and 744,845 students throughout the State of Alabama, and 1,500 private schools; and,

ensured partner efforts supported all public and private institutions of higher learning, and

community colleges. He was the key consultant for resource development and sponsored

programs, academic leadership, and efficient and effective unit operations.

He is an expert in international relations in research, development and technology transfer

that yielded major government acquisition programs, and has served as executive in

building major systems, including national intelligence and security systems, as well as

operations and communications infrastructure for cybersecurity. As a certified

professional in program management, he commands a vast experience in related

contractual, costs, test and evaluation, and contract management.

Burge holds the doctorate in electrical engineering and is a member of Tau Beta Pi, the

National Engineering Honor Society; Eta Kappa Nu, the Honorary Electrical Engineering

Fraternity; Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society; and the Kappa Alpha Psi

National Fraternity, Inc., and the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions
