Employment Tribunal Fees

The government has issued a consultation paper?on re-introducing fees in the Employment Tribunal and the Employment Appeal Tribunal.

I understand that the fee would be £55.

The problem with the fees, is that this is hitting people who are more than likely to be unemployed. On top of the initial fee, the Claimant would in all probability be instructing lawyers or a representative and a further fee or fees would be payable.

Claimants have to pay their normal bills. Taking a matter to Tribunal is costly both economically and emotionally. With the cost of living crisis, people do not have a disposable income to pay for their normal needs.

This to my mind will impact on the cases brought to an Employment Tribunal.
