Employing Enthusiasm Artfully

Do you want to take your communication skills to the highest level?

If so, you must cultivate enthusiasm.

Hone your ability to bring passion and energy into situations.?

…But you have to do this artfully.?

I say artfully because you don’t want to completely overdo it.

So, how do you know if you’ve got the right amount of enthusiasm?

Look for feedback.

This is the best way to gauge if you’ve turned on too much or not enough enthusiasm.

So, if you walk into a meeting while bursting with smiles, laughter, and silliness…

But you look around and no one’s reciprocating that energy…

That’s a sign you might want to throttle it down a bit.?

Let me give you an example:

The first time I met one of my business mentors over a video call, I was full of excitement and energy.

Little did I know he wasn’t the type to show that kind of enthusiasm.

So, in our subsequent meetings, I made an effort to match his demeanour more closely.?

Artistry In Communication

Moderating how you present yourself is not about being untrue to yourself.

It’s about connecting with others in a considerate way.

And how you go about it takes some artistry.?

That’s why if you want to improve in this area…

You’ve just got to practice it intentionally.?

Dealing with Difficult People?

Truth is, enthusiasm won’t work on everyone.

You will meet people who, for whatever reason, don’t have the brightest demeanour.?

So, what can you do in these circumstances??

Sometimes you just have to be there for them.

Let them know that…

Then let them go.

Remember, it’s not your job to change anybody.?

You also don’t know what’s going on in people’s lives.?

They could’ve just lost a loved one that’s why they’re unenthusiastic.

You really just don’t know what’s happening with them.

That’s why instead of trying to ‘fix’ that person, just offer to help.

And if they say no, tell them you’re there if they change their mind.?

Then, leave them be.?

This is what I mean by artfully practicing enthusiasm.

It will elevate your mastery of communication.?

I guarantee it!
