Nicolas BEHBAHANI, your post brilliantly highlights the indispensable role of soft skills in career advancement, underscoring findings that mirror historical trends and emerging challenges in the workforce. This concept builds upon a Deloitte study highlighting how organizations with strong learning cultures not only excel in innovation but also achieve significantly higher engagement and retention rates (https://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/insights/deloitte-review/issue-16/employee-engagement-strategies.html). This culture fosters an environment where both soft and hard skills are continuously developed, aligning perfectly with your insights. In response to your question on how organizations can prioritize soft skills for an effective promotions culture, integrating continuous learning and development opportunities is key. As you pointed out, employees who frequently come to the office tend to develop these skills more robustly, suggesting a hybrid approach to work could further enhance this development in some industries - though I'm keen on experimentation and research in how we can replicate similar outcomes in more virtual environments.

Loved learning more and reading the research behind this as I created a post about the importance of soft skills a couple of weeks ago. Great soft skills not only help employees in their leadership journey and getting promoted, but also play a significant role in creating a great culture. Soft skill development needs to be a part of continuous learning at all levels.
