A different interesting pattern is emerging in research and people are coming to office “to focus on their work” as the top reason instead of work in-person with their team and colleagues and workers believed that "Choice" in where to work within the office?is a fundamental component of workplace experience in 2023. Researchers found remarkable similarities in the way employees across the world are working. Office workers in all 9 countries surveyed spend an average of 42% of their time working with others, consisting of virtual (14%) and in-person (28%) work but they spend 35% of time working alone.
?Top reason to come to office: "to focus on my Work"
During the pandemic, when the majority of office workers across the world were working from home, they stated that the most important reason to come into the office was to work in-person with their team and colleagues.

1 年Interesting research, Nicolas. Agency is the word that comes to mind here. I look at workplace accommodations as just one part of what's needed to meet workers' needs. Now, more than ever, workers want flexibility and freedom to "move about the cabin" - agency in work environment, job responsibilities, and career paths. I think this is why we are also seeing a trend of workers taking side-hustles and career development programs into their own hands. Offering flex workplaces that give workers "choice" is a nod to a macro worker independence revolution! ??
