This month we were joined by Matthew from Shine Workplace Wellbeing for an engaging workshop and learnt the essentials to support your employees mental and physical health.
Matthew's Top Tips:
1. Less is sometimes more with employee wellbeing. Don't overwhelm staff with a plethora of options or do too much because it's currently fashionable. Get the essentials in place first.?
2. Talk to and survey employees to make a programme relevant?and engaging for them. Involve them, let them feel part of schemes. And regularly ask for feedback.?
3. Avoid tick box options. For instance, Mental Health First Aid is seen as the go to training option, but is it the most appropriate for your workplace??
4. Cover a range of wellbeing aspects, not just mental health. This will help make activities more appealing to those skeptical about such schemes. So place an emphasis on physical health.?
5. Look at your environment. What's in the vicinity of your workplace that can?become part of a programme or activities? If there's green space nearby, use it!?
