Employee Tip: How Binaural Beats Can Help with Productivity

Welcome to the PIN PULSE Newsletter! Here is your productivity tip of the day from one of our team members, and it's all about how BEATS can affect productivity.

We're not talking about Dr. Dre or DJ Quick-type beats (although there are a few good ones I could list off ??), we're talking about binaural beats; beats that have been found to impact brainwave activity and studied for their potential effects on cognition, mood, and overall well-being.

Binaural beats work by creating an auditory illusion in the brain. When two different sound frequencies are presented to each ear separately, the brain perceives a third, unique frequency which is the difference between the two original frequencies. This is known as the "binaural beat" and is typically heard as a pulsing or humming sound.

So as an example, if the frequency to the left ear is set to 200 Hz, and the frequency presented to the right ear is 210 Hz, the brain will perceive a binaural beat frequency of 10 Hz (the difference between the two frequencies). This 10 Hz frequency is in the alpha range of brainwave activity, which is associated with relaxation and calmness.

Here's what an employee at PIN Business said about using binaural beats to help reduce anxiety and help bring more productivity.

"I recently discovered binaural beats and have been using them to improve my overall well-being. They help me feel more relaxed and have helped reduce some of the stress I've felt recently. I feel like they've definitely improved my focus and concentration as well. They've really helped reduce my anxiety and they're so great when I'm needing an extra boost toward the middle of the day. I highly recommend using binaural beats for anyone looking for some productivity tips :)"
