Employee Spotlight: Yang Sun- Associate Scientist, Analytical Chemistry

For this month's Employee Spotlight, Provivi would like to introduce you to Associate Scientist, Yang Sun. Based in Los Angeles, Yang joined our team in early 2020 and has been instrumental in analytical efforts and ensuring smooth operations in the lab.

How long have you been at Provivi? Tell us about your role.

I’ve been working at Provivi for a year and a half. As an Associate Scientist in Analytical Chemistry, I support different cross-functional teams (Formulation, Fermentation, Production Chemistry, QA, and Regulatory), generating reports, preparing protocols, developing test methods, and writing SOPs. I also work on maintaining and repairing analytical instruments to keep them in good shape and ensure the smooth operation of the lab. In addition, I’ve been training Lab Technicians and Assistant Scientists (Analytical Chemistry) in analytical instrumentations, including theories and applications to inspire them to love analytical chemistry.

What inspires your work at Provivi?

Provivi is making insect sex pheromones to help farmers reduce their dependence on insecticides and pesticides. Less use of these insecticides and pesticides will reduce pollution and provide farmers a more friendly working environment.
