Employee Spotlight: Sophie Mascari

As tribute to extraordinary women whose ceaseless dedication have positioned them to become standout leaders, shaping the growth of both their respective organizations and the IT industry, CRN –?an industry-leading publication – annually honors the 100 up-and-coming female leaders within the IT channels. Among the third annual Rising Female Stars list released this year is CommScope’s Sophie Mascari, Channel Operations & Enablement Specialist, who was recognized for her efforts in channel operations. Sophie displays excellence in a variety of marketing disciplines, including channel program management and partner engagement.

Sophie joined CommScope in 2020, and in her current role helps with the partner onboarding process and managing the Ruckus Channel alias to assist with all partners’ questions. While overseeing that, she also works as a project manager to continuously improve overall customer and partner experience.

Sophie first joined the inside sales team and after a year, a new position opened up that better suited her. Since then, she has immersed herself into channel operations and has experienced various opportunities to help her grow in her role and within the organization.?

Among the several projects she has worked on, she spoke of the revamp of the Ruckus Partner Program and is amazed to see it get finalized. “Our Channel operations team collaborated with several departments to make the partner experience superior,” she explained.?

“Thank you to CRN for the recognition, I am honored to be on this list with so many talented women in IT. This recognition would not be possible without the continuous opportunities CommScope has opened for me,” noted Sophie. “Transitioning from inside sales to channel operations has helped me identify where I can be beneficial to our organization’s growth. Also, a huge thank you to my manager Rick Geer for his guidance and for always looking out for new projects for me to engage with. I will strive to make an impact on channel operations and beyond” she shared on her recognition.

Commenting on CommScope’s culture, her favorite part is working with teams around the globe. “Being in channel operations has allowed me to work closely with colleagues all over the world. Even though I am fully remote I am still able to connect with people easily and build relationships,” she explains.

Sophie’s inspiration in life comes from her parents, who started their own business from the ground up. “They worked hard to build a successful business together and raise a family at the same time. Their hard work has encouraged me to do the same and make them proud!”

Advice she has for professionals looking to thrive and succeed in the industry: “Don’t be afraid to jump into a new field, there are always resources to help you just have to ask the questions.”

Outside of work, Sophie is usually outdoors spending her time swimming, bike riding or playing volleyball in the park. During the winter, she enjoys skiing and karaoke. “Overall, as long as I’m with family or friends I’m happy,” Sophie comments.?
