Meet Rebecca Pollard, Head of Marketing of GreatPetCare?!

We have so many outstanding team members at GreatPetCare?, and we want to introduce Rebecca Pollard!

Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

"I have so many people who have influenced my career, but it all started with my Dad! He worked in marketing in the banking industry for his entire career, so I was exposed to marketing conversations at an early age.?

I’ve also had a lot of women leaders in my career who have inspired me to be bold and think like a CEO - and I’m extremely grateful for those mentors who have helped shape my customer-first business mindset."

What does your job entail?

"I am Head of Marketing for GreatPetCare? - and my role takes me a lot of different directions. Every day is different, which is exciting and challenging, all at the same time. I help to strategize with my team on where and how we are prioritizing and innovating, help to support cross-functional efforts within our organization to align our marketing efforts and meet the needs of pet parents, and explore how we can continue to drive value for veterinarians through our parent company, Covetrus."

When did you first know you wanted to pursue a career in this field?

"When I went to college, I wanted to be a writer working for big fashion publications (like Carrie Bradshaw from Sex In The City), so I majored in media and communications. As I learned more about working in media, marketing was a natural pairing. I’ve always been very entrepreneurial, so wanting to create my own businesses, or publications at the time, meant I needed to be great at marketing them too. As my college and then work career evolved, I just continued to find that was my niche and built on it. My natural interest in always wanting to learn the next thing helped me to expand my knowledge in different areas of marketing, and led me to where I am today."

What do you like most about GreatPetCare??

"We’ve created an environment where we are constantly innovating and trying new things - which makes every day an adventure. Our team works hard to build a culture where everyone can contribute ideas and partner together to achieve them. We test, fail, learn, and keep trying every day - and that fosters our ability to work quickly and create awesome outcomes!"

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

"I have two boys who are very active in sports and other extracurricular activities - so I spend most of my time outside of work running them around and watching their games. Outside of that, I love to spend time with friends trying new restaurants and hanging out at the beach. I also love hosting parties! Movies and shows are my favorite way to decompress and relax."

What movie genres do you like to watch?

"I am a sucker for romantic comedies but I also love action films and crime dramas. No scary movies for me!!"

Do you follow any sports teams?

"For baseball, I follow the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies, and for football, the Philadelphia Eagles."
