Employee Spotlight on our VIP Host, Laura!

This October month we are talking with Laura, who is our VIP Host in our VIP team!

Whats your official title at Easygo and what do you do?

My title is VIP Host, and my main role is to look after valuable clients across different brands of?Easygo. I help by building and establishing relations together which helps grow our reach and the businesses as well! I also collaborate with other teams like Marketing, Retention and Design, to pass on feedback and to help create a better experience for our customers.

I am also a language-specific host, so I take care of not only our English-speaking VIPs, but also the Portuguese and Spanish-speaking ones too.?

What does a typical day look like??

After a short walk from the train station, I get to work and usually grab myself a chai latte from our amazing barista, Tegan! After that, my first priority is always replying to any overnight queries from my customers. Usually, when that is done, I then review some extra pending accounts to make sure I am all up to date with all customer's queries and needs.

Besides that, we usually have a few team meetings every once in a while which allows us to catch up on each other's work and even share any good or bad experiences we have had so far. I also do fortnightly meetings with other teams to collaborate on how we can bring the customer the best experience possible.

When lunchtime comes around, it is always a good time to relax and bond with my colleagues, and even play some pool or ping pong (mostly pool though hahaha).

After lunch, I finish off any other queries I might have had during the time I went to lunch,?and then I head home. As a VIP host, my day in the office finishes earlier than the usual 9 till 5, so I come into work during the day and then work from home in the evenings for a couple of hours.?

What are some of your biggest accomplishments??

It’s always great getting promotions and moving up in my career as it gives me a sense of achievement and that my work has been recognised and rewarded. However,?I would say my biggest accomplishment is looking back and realising how much knowledge I’ve gained in this industry and how far I’ve come with all the skills I’ve learned.

What is your favourite part of your job?

I would have to say, my favourite part of my job has been talking and meeting so many new people, not only the customers who come from all around the world with different backgrounds and cultures, but also the great people I work with every day. From my first day, I always felt welcomed and was met with a willingness to help not only from my team but other teams I collaborate with.?

What opportunities have Easygo given you that you haven’t gotten anywhere else???

I’ve had heaps of opportunities at Easygo to grow my career and the perks of attending international events! I got to go to Singapore to attend the UFC, which was definitely a great experience, but my favourite opportunity was definitely attending the Formula 1.

The F1 is one of my favourite sports, and by working at Easygo, I got access to the garages and met some of the drivers around the paddock. I have been following F1 since before I can remember so it was like a dream come true!

Whats your particular team culture like?

My team is actually quite close and we all have great freedom to reach out to each other at any time in case we need any help. It has been great to see the progress of the team and how we've grown together, as well as each person growing in their own career.

The culture is great as we have lots of fun and feel very comfortable around each other. We often hang out outside of work and that gives us an opportunity to get to know one another in a whole different way as well.??

What makes Easygo an unique place to work?

I would definitely say the culture of the business and the people. The talent acquisition team is always making amazing choices. It feels like a place where people are always happy to help others. It's great to work in a welcoming environment, with people who actually believe in my growth and support me on my journey, also, free breaky in the morning and all the extra perks are pretty cool too haha!
