Employee Spotlight : Nigel Stinchcombe
C.L. Electrical Controls Limited
Manufacturer and installer of Mobile and Fibre Telecoms Cabinets, BEMS Control Panels and Huber+Suhner UK Sales Partner
Welcome to the first instalment of our brand new Employee Spotlight series. The series will offer a chance to get to know the members?of our talented and diverse staff.
The series will not only spotlight our experts, but also the careers they hold at CL Electrical and other career opportunities here.
Our first interviewee works as a control panel builder at CL. The fundamental parts of this job include creating and manufacturing control panels for various industries, including manufacturing, hospitals, Government buildings, food processing and many others.
Control panel builders interpret electrical schematics and select appropriate components to wire panels. They must be able to test and troubleshoot and remain compliant with regulations and regulatory bodies.
In the first of our Employee Spotlight series we have interviewed Nigel Stinchcombe who has worked with us for over 14 years.
Tell us about yourself:
"I have worked at CL for around fourteen and a half years, I worked my way up to become workshop foreman at our Pucklechurch unit and have completed that role successfully for a number of years
"As I am now planning my retirement, I have reverted to control panel builder as I begin handing over the main responsibilities of my Foreman role to my successor Richard House, who will be supported by Geoff Garrett as Chargehand."
Nigel's day to day activities:
Nigel's role now?involves overseeing the day to day production in the workshop.

He ensures that all of the CL Electrical control panels are built and tested in line with the general arrangement drawings, electrical schematics?and customers specifications.
He also creates and picks parts for each build.
Due to his retirement plans, alongside his current role, Nigel will focus on continuing to build control panels and oversee the in-house engraving machines we run to support our own builds and provide customised labelling to our customers.
Do you enjoy your role and would you recommend CL Electrical?
Nigel said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed working here for the past fourteen-and-a-half years, so much so that I am not entirely convinced I am 100% sure I want to retire later this year!
"I have always been afforded great opportunities here at CL and so have those around me.
"I worked hard to work up to management level and I am happy to now begin the process of handing that role over. It has been really good to get back into my old role, although I am still overseeing a lot of what goes on across the workshop.
"I would recommend working at CL to anyone, I wouldn’t have lasted so long if it wasn’t such a good place to work."
