Employee Spotlight Mohamed Bah

Please tell us a little about you

My name is Mohamed Bah. I started working at JERA as a Cloud engineer in May 2022. I'm originally from Guinea and moved to Japan in 2015.

?Throughout my life, I have gathered knowledge and skills from a broad variety of experiences and passions.

?Professionally, I have gained diverse experience in Information Technology including systems administration, customer support, and IT infrastructure.

I have an ardent enthusiasm for acquiring knowledge and keeping myself well-informed about the most recent developments within my field of expertise.

?I enjoy being in the company of my loved ones, family or friends and have a great passion for discovering new places and am an enthusiastic reader.

?The count the connections I have made as one of my biggest personal achievements.

As a believer of continual improvement and personal enhancement, I actively pursue new ways to expand my knowledge and acquire additional competencies.

?Overall, I have embarked on a voyage of discovery and knowledge acquisition. I have undergone significant personal development, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunities and escapades that await me in the future.

What is your role at JERA and what do you enjoy the most about your role?

Recently I was promoted to the position of Senior Cloud Engineer.

I am primarily tasked with developing, managing, and providing assistance for the Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure.

?Within the Cloud team, we collaborate extensively with other teams to fulfill the vision of modernizing JERA into a digital-focused enterprise.

?As a part of this position, I enjoy the collaboration with my team members to reach our objectives and observing how my contributions positively affect the enterprise.

?What attracted you to JERA as a company?

The ambitious goal of achieving "JERA Zero CO2 Emissions 2050" was the primary factor that impressed and motivated me to become a part of the JERA team.

Knowing that my contribution can enhance the quality of life for individuals both presently and in the future is an invaluable asset to me.

What has been the most transformative experience you had since joining JERA?

Over the course of my time working at JERA, I have gained valuable knowledge and encouragement from my supervisors, which has enabled me to create and implement complex cloud infrastructure solutions.

What has been your path to your promotion and what are your thoughts on it?

While being interviewed for a position at JERA, I distinctly remember the emphasis placed by my interviewers on the importance of continuous learning.

?Upon joining JERA, I developed an educational scheme aimed at dedicating no less than one hour a day to acquiring knowledge and pursuing two certifications annually, in 2022 I became a certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

?By centering my coursework on the daily tasks, I gained additional time to engage in hands-on experiences and exercises.

?Being promoted is not only an acknowledgment of my hard work, but also a new challenge. My focus will be on maintaining the positive progress and attitude and to keep that momentum going.

What’s one piece of advice you would share with your younger self?

If I were to share one piece of advice with my younger self, it would be to appreciate and treasure the moments spent with family. Our loved ones are a valuable part of our lives, and the time we spend with them is priceless and cannot be replicated.

What would you tell someone that is interested in joining JERA?

For those interested in becoming a part of JERA, you should know that this organization values diversity and inclusivity and makes a concerted effort to prioritize work-life balance and foster a culture of collaboration.
