Today, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on Steve Ross-Byers, Quality Assurance Engineer at Gondola Skate. Steve brings a passion for innovation to his role, making a significant impact in ensuring the quality of our proprietary software.

Specializing in Automated Testing Frameworks, Steve enjoys finding new ways to test our software and build solutions to ensure the quality of our systems. Steve notes his favorite aspects of his work are “finding creative ways to break software, using that same creativity to solve unique problems, and writing code to automate our test suites - ensuring we have high-quality software.”?

Evolution Within Gondola Skate:??

Steve joined Gondola Skate in April 2024 and has already made a significant impact. In his short time here, his role has evolved from documentation and manual exploratory testing to building a bespoke Automation Framework. He’s worked primarily in our proprietary GSET application, our custom software for managing equipment rentals and programs. He’s even started dabbling in the development side of things!?

Highlights:???

Steve is particularly proud of the custom node.js Automation Framework he’s been developing for GSET. It uses Playwright to test critical user flows, helping to ensure smooth operation. “When the automation is complete, it will help us catch issues before they impact users and free up time to improve other aspects like performance and scaling,” Steve explains.??
