Employee Spotlight: Meet Luke O’Neil, General Manager of Operations at Gondola Skate

To kick off our employee spotlight series, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on Luke O’Neil, our General Manager of Operations. With nearly a decade of dedication and expertise under his belt, Luke has played an integral part in our journey.

Role:

As the General Manager of Operations, Luke oversees our day-to-day operations, closely collaborating with various departments. What he enjoys most about his role is the evolution from wearing many hats during his earliest years to now wearing one hat but still being deeply involved in many different areas of the company. He also mentions enjoying working with the “most solid team anyone could ask for.”

Evolution within Gondola Skate:

Having joined Gondola Skate in 2015, Luke has seen the company evolve and grow much like his own professional journey. Starting from an accounting position, he transitioned to the role of Warehouse Manager where he began building kits and performing in-store demonstrations. From there, he became a Service Manager, overseeing, monitoring, and managing service center processes. Through working closely with Logistics, Project Management, and directly with clients, he’s moved into his current role of General Manager of Operations.

Highlights:

When reflecting on previous projects, Luke expresses his commitment to getting things done, whatever the task may be. From setting up new service centers to navigating challenges alongside other departments, his proactive approach shines through. Luke particularly enjoys his involvement in the research and development phases of new products, working closely with engineering to bring innovative solutions to life.

Inspiration:

Two quotes resonate with Luke, and serve as guiding principles in his personal and professional life: “You either get better, or you get worse. Nobody ever stays the same.” and “You have to move in order to steer.” These quotes sum up Luke’s pursuit of improvement and adaptability, qualities that undoubtedly contribute to his success at Gondola Skate.
