Employee Spotlight: Meet Harriet

Harriet joined the emotive team in 2019 as an Account Director. She has worked in over eight therapy areas so far, including rare diseases and advanced therapies. She has since progressed to Senior Account Director, which is a testimony to her incredible work, relationships with her colleagues and achievements for her clients so far. Harriet is now leading one of our teams, which comprises members of the Client Services and Medical Writing teams.

In this article, Harriet tells us more about her life before she joined us, what attracted her to emotive, her working life and what she gets up to outside of work.

"Before I joined emotive, I studied at and graduated from the University of Bath with a BSc in Natural Sciences. I then jumped straight into work at a medical communications agency, which I enjoyed but I always had a desire to travel and spend some time abroad. I decided to leave the UK and spend 2 years in New Zealand, where I worked for a radio station, a digital agency and a small medical comms agency, supporting the launch of a range of pharmaceutical products across Australasia. I have such fond memories of New Zealand and would highly recommend it to anyone if you get the chance."

In September 2019, she joined us here at emotive and says,?“One of the main things that attracted me to emotive as an agency was their focus on and strength in rare diseases as this was something I felt differed from other agencies. On top of that, the role offered a huge variety in terms of projects, therapy areas and client partnerships. 3 years later, I can safely say that I have not been disappointed. It’s a fast-paced environment. I love how it’s always changing. Every project is different, and we're lucky to have clients looking to push the boundaries and work on such creative initiatives. It certainly keeps us on our toes.”

"I'm really proud of our collaborative partnerships. We’re an extension of the client team, and we get to work on products that are genuinely having a real impact on the quality of life of patients who have debilitating diseases through raising awareness of medical conditions that are under recognised, which is something that gives us all great satisfaction.”

"It’s a sociable working environment at emotive. We’re so lucky to have a diverse and friendly team to learn from and enjoy working with daily. With the office being in its central location, we never struggle to find a suitable location for a post-work wind-down & catch-up drink.”?

"Outside of work, I love to travel, experience new places and cultures and get out and about, grabbing dinner with friends around the city. I’m also a keen windsurfer and always try to get out on the water whenever I can (or whenever it’s warm enough), which offers a nice escape from city life if I need it."
