Employee Spotlight: Lauren Ribeiro

An avid gardener, coin collector and aspiring sommelier, our next employee spotlight features one of our Senior Developers, Lauren. Joining Financeit 3 years ago, Lauren has progressed within our data team starting as an analytics developer and now is one of the senior leaders of that team.

What exactly do you do as a Senior Developer  - Manager?

My job is two-fold: as an individual contributor to our codebase and also a people manager. As a senior developer on the data team I do work to model data, build pipelines, and develop reporting. As a manager I work to ensure other developers feel valued and supported to do their best work and grow as professionals. 

What do you enjoy most about working at Financeit? 

Every week there are new tasks and challenges to overcome - whether it's determining a strategy to collect data for reporting or exploring new data tooling for our stack. These new tasks and challenges grant me the opportunity to speak with and get to know different stakeholders in our organization. I get to build new connections and learn a lot about what different folks do and how they do it.

How have you grown as a professional since working at Financeit?

I started at Financeit over 3 years ago as an Analytics Developer and have since worked my way up to a management position with the help and support of wonderful tech leaders. My managers have helped me upskill and consistently work towards my professional development goals, with opportunities to lead projects, attend conferences, and be involved in high-level strategy. Financeit has provided great role models to employ servant leadership as a developer manager today.
