Employee Spotlight - Kayleigh McCabe, Pre-Owned Operations Manager

I joined as a People Team intern from University in June 2018. I spent 2 weeks with recruitment, HR and L&D. Once my internship was complete I was offered a temporary role in recruitment. I was due to go back to University in the September, but loved working at WoS so much that I had changed my mind! I asked recruitment if they had any entry level roles I could apply for, and I was recommended to apply for Pre-Owned Admin.

I knew absolutely nothing about watches. I had just finished a degree in Politics and International Relations, I had never heard of 99% of brands we stock, I had one watch and it was a digital Casio that cost me ￡8! I really enjoyed learning about the luxury watch market, especially Pre-Owned. Laura Warrilow and Conrad Cunningham are an absolute fountain of knowledge, and I am so appreciative to them as I have learnt so much from them.?

I started in Pre-Owned in 2018 as an Administrator, by the end of 2019 I was promoted to Office Supervisor. In 2022 I was promoted to Office Manager, and now most recently Operation's Manager. Career progression and growth is definitely something I look for in a role. I look forward to new challenges and learning new things. With the amazing growth we have had in Pre-Owned comes those challenges and exciting changes that always keep my day interesting. I really appreciate all of the opportunities the WoS group have given me to develop and grow in my career.??

My line managers have always championed my growth and development. They have always been really supportive if I show an interest in developing in a new area/learning more about another part of the business.??

The best thing about working for The WoS group are the people I work alongside with everyday, as well as people across the business/in the showrooms.

Since 2018, I have seen a lot of changes in The WoS Group, especially in Pre-Owned. We started off in an old stationary cupboard (we have since moved offices 3 times as we keep outgrowing spaces!) with 6 members of staff, we're now at 21 members of staff and are still recruiting for more!

I am really looking forward to seeing the continued growth of The WoS Group, and being a part of that journey.?
