1.?What is your role at UM?

My current role is Human Resources Generalist. I was hired on as a HR Coordinator and was promoted in September 2023.

2.?How long have you been with the company?

I started in October 2022, so just over a year and a half!

3.?What do you like most about your job?

One of the best parts about my career in Human Resources is the opportunity to positively impact an organization and its employees. I like to think of myself as a true liaison between the business and the personnel. This allows me to continually learn and grow within my role by engaging with various aspects of the business and working closely with people at all levels.

4.??Tell us about a professional success story of which you’re proud. ?

At my previous employer, we faced a big challenge with the Paid Time Off (PTO) policy that was in place. I spearheaded a timesaving project for PTO procedures by auditing years of data. I established a new policy which eliminated paper PTO forms. Employees and management were then able to access PTO balances, time off requests and timecards from one location. My goal is to always improve the efficiency of the organization’s processes.?

5.?What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?

Be a sponge! Ask questions, do the research and never stop learning. Understand that challenges and setbacks are still opportunities for growth.
