Employee Spotlight: Guilhem Guyonnet, Software Product Owner at AddUp Inc.

Without our hardworking employees, we wouldn't be where we are today. We are so proud to have such an amazing group of people working at AddUp. We'd like to present, Guilhem Guyonnet, Software Product Owner at AddUp in France.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I graduated from University with a Degree in Physical Measurement followed by a degree in Engineering, and a Bac+5 (Master's Degree) in Electronics and Embedded Systems. I did 10 years of development before managing projects. I have been at AddUp for 5 years now.

Can you summarize what you do at AddUp?

I have several roles at AddUp which are Software Project Manager, Testing, Technical Referent, and Scrum Master. As a Software Project Manager, I collect user needs and convert them into specifications or tasks for the development team. For testing, I organize the test campaigns and check that the specifications are correct and that everything is working properly. Part of being a Scrum Master includes me being integrated into the development team and supporting technicians, as well as leading daily meetings.

Tell us about your life outside of AddUp.

I think I'm a simple person who likes simple things. I live in the countryside (near the cows) with my wife, my children (5 and 7) and my animals. I don't know what boredom is, both in my professional and personal life, I can't stand doing nothing (it's a real problem, by the way!). I lived in different places in France before returning to Auvergne to be closer to family and I no longer intent to leave.

I spend 90% of my free time renovating my house and tinkering with wooden things, in-between work and a busy family life.

What inspired you to get into the additive industry?

I have always worked in the industry since I left school. First close to the aeronautical world, then in defense which I enjoyed to work in. When I retuned to Auvergne, I looked for a position in an innovative industry. Passionate about 3D printing on a personal basis, it was quite natural for me to apply to AddUp.

What do you enjoy most about AddUp?

What I like most about AddUp is the diversity of profiles I work with. I am lucky to only work with extremely competent people (and this is not the case in all companies). All services have a real technical expert in their field and whatever the problems there is someone who will be able to solve it.

If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?

A beaver. I like nature and making wooden stuff. Peaceful but still an active animal.

What's the best trip you have been on and why?

I travel little (mainly in France and Europe by van). There is already a lot to see close to home. Portugal is a particularly cool country to do in a van: authentic, with magnificent landscapes, incredible gastronomy and not expensive. Go for it.
