What is your role within KAGR (Kraft Analytics Group) (KAGR)? How long have you been a member of organization?

I joined KAGR a year ago as a Cloud Engineer. I'm currently working with the Platform Team on designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions for our organization.

How has your career grown since starting at KAGR??What do you find to be the most rewarding aspects of your job?

Since joining KAGR, I have had numerous opportunities to grow in my role as a Cloud Engineer. When I first joined the platform team, it was in its nascent stage, and I leveraged my basic knowledge of technology automation tools to get started. In a matter of months, we were able to build an infrastructure that optimized and accelerated the delivery of customer value by product teams. Additionally, I have played a significant role in implementing identity and security best practices we use both internally and externally. Through cross-functional collaboration with other teams in the organization, I have gained a broader understanding of KAGR's operations and developed new skills in security and application development. Despite working on the back end, as cloud engineers often do, KAGR's teams collaborate closely, and there are always opportunities to feel part of a large group with a common purpose. The acknowledgement and feedback we receive are incredibly motivating and they energize me to keep moving forward.

Can you tell us about an obstacle you overcame in your career? How did you do it?

As someone who has only been in the technology field for a few years, I have encountered a common obstacle that many cloud engineers face: the complexity and scale of cloud infrastructure. These challenges can lead to issues with performance, security, and cost optimization, particularly for those with less experience. To overcome these obstacles, I have found it essential to stay current with the latest tools and best practices in cloud infrastructure management. It's crucial to be resourceful and know how to apply these tools effectively. I have worked closely with other teams to ensure that our cloud environment is optimized for our organization's specific needs, which has helped me gain valuable experience and insights into cloud infrastructure management.

In honor of #WomensHistoryMonth, is there a woman in your personal or professional life who has been a mentor or role model to you? What do you admire most about them?

The person I admire the most and who has been my role model, mentor, teacher, and caregiver is my mother, Nuriye Ceylan. Her unwavering perseverance, dedication, and compassion in all circumstances have been the driving force throughout my life, and I know it always will be. In the professional world of technology, Grace Hopper is an outstanding inspiration. She was the mastermind behind the first compiler, which made it easier for programmers to write code by translating high-level programming languages into machine code. Her visionary ideas and innovative contributions have significantly shaped the field of computer science and have inspired generations of women to pursue careers in technology.

What advice would you give to the next generation of women leaders in the world?

It's important to remain authentic to yourself despite external pressures. Follow your own desires and surround yourself with positive and encouraging individuals. Make a conscious effort to appreciate every moment and find joy in life's simple pleasures.
