Employee Spotlight: Eric Walker

Eric Walker is just a couple months shy of celebrating his 25th anniversary at RaceTrac! He has had quite the journey as a TracFanatic from starting in 1997 as a Transportation Coordinator then moving over to Energy Dispatch as a Maintenance Coordinator to now RaceTrac Transportation Manager.

If you have ever wondered who is behind getting fuel to RaceTrac and RaceWay stores, look no further than Eric and his Transportation team. They manage the logistics over 750 deliveries to RaceTrac and Raceway stores every day! The next time you are filling up at one of our stores, you know who to thank!

I have also had several mentors over the years from fellow team members to mid to upper-level executives in the organization that influenced my professional growth.”

Eric’s advice to new employees:

• Always go the extra mile.
• Always be willing to help others.
• Always be willing to learn something new.
• Learn, protect and support your team members.
• Admit when you make a mistake.
• Get a mentor, then be a mentor to someone down the line.
• Run your own race, you are your best competition.

When Eric isn’t strategizing on getting fuel trucks where they are supposed to be going, he loves spending time with his family and life-long friends. He enjoys grilling, gardening, listening to all genres of music and shopping for unique furniture and artistic pieces. He is also an avid coin collector which is perfect since he is about to celebrate his silver (25th) anniversary with RaceTrac.

Eric is the biggest Pittsburg Steelers and University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) fan so the next time you see him, make sure to talk football!
