2. What first brought you to Brainomix?

What first attracted me to the organization was seeing the impact of Brainomix 360 on the pathway for our stroke patients. After working informally with the company to support some reader studies, I was appointed as Medical Director in 2022.

Whilst the company has grown significantly since then, the core strengths that first attracted me the organization haven’t changed. I am very fortunate to enjoy working with an incredibly talented group of people, who are passionate about delivering rigorously developed and innovative technologies to benefit patients worldwide.

3. What have been some of the highlights of your work at Brainomix?

I am very proud to have? been part of the team who have been successful in gaining several new FDA 510(k) devices within the Brainomix 360 Stroke platform. As part of our translational medicine team, I have led on the design and delivery of the US clinical studies required to support these submissions. I have also enjoyed the opportunity to travel and meet other radiologists and stroke physicians from all over the world including USA, Europe, the Middle East and Indonesia. I am often struck by the similarities of the challenges doctors face, even when working in widely varying healthcare systems.

4. How do you see AI in healthcare evolving over the next few?years?

AI is an important tool for technological development, which has already resulted in significant progress in the way we can acquire and interpret medical imaging. The challenge for the clinical community now is to understand how these tools can be deployed to derive maximum benefit to patients and healthcare systems more widely. This doesn’t involve a detailed understanding of AI techniques, but will require an open minded and broad approach to the role of medical imaging as part of the patient journey. A modern digital healthcare infrastructure is also crucial to ensure we can leverage the benefits of current and future technology.

5. What hobbies/activities do you enjoy outside of work?

During the summer I love playing and coaching cricket at West Ilsley CC. I play the piano from time to time, and try to get out into the West Berkshire countryside as much as I can.
