Employee Spotlight: Doshu Choi- Senior Accountant

Allow us to introduce you to this month's Employee Spotlight: Provivi Senior Accountant Doshu Choi. Based in Santa Monica, California, Doshu is our go-to person in financial needs for operations. He is an asset in providing financial information to investors and management in making crucial business decisions.

How long have you been with Provivi? Tell us about your role.

I have been with Provivi for just over two years. As part of the Finance team, I am responsible for bookkeeping, monthly book closing and reconciliation, vendor invoice processing and payment, and employee expense reporting management. At Provivi, I am the go-to person for assisting everyone in the company when they have financial needs for operations. I also assist in creating financials to provide relevant financial information to our investors and management to make financial decisions.

What inspires your work at Provivi?

Provivi's people, ideas, and technology inspire me every day. Provivi started with an extraordinary idea that disruption technology can drive the agriculture industry to be more sustainable. Our beliefs and technology are innovative and environmentally friendly so that it has a positive impact on our environment and human civilization. I feel fortunate that I can take part in this incredible organization with great minds and bright individuals. I am excited every day to be developing Provivi's infrastructure so that our excellent technology and products can spread to crops all around our beautiful planet.

People would be surprised if they knew what fact about you?

One interesting fact about me is that I have served in the South Korean Marine Corps Force Recon. I had learned many cool things, including the handling of firearms and explosives, skydiving, scuba diving, skiing, and so forth. It was mentally and physically challenging, but truly a rare experience where I was able to develop team-building skills, ethics, and a mindset to overcome challenges.

What's your favorite insect?

My favorite insect is the cricket. Growing up, I only lived in high-rise apartments in urban cities where it was very rare to hear crickets. Hearing crickets at night calms my mood, reminds me that we are part of nature, and makes me appreciate how extraordinary our environment is. Also, even though I have not tried yet, I have learned that crickets could become the main source of protein in our daily diet in a few decades!
