Employee portrait: Amanda Ekstrand

We are pleased to introduce Amanda Ekstrand, an analytical Head of Accounting responsible for the financial functions of Hedin US Motor.

Amanda’s journey began in the picturesque town of S?derk?ping in ?sterg?tland, Sweden. Nine years ago, she relocated to Gothenburg, and today she resides in Bua, a charming fishing village north of Varberg, with her husband and two children. Three years ago, Amanda and her family moved into their newly built home. Despite the house being completed, ongoing home improvement projects keep her busy. Amanda’s extensive experience in accounting and her analytical skills provide a solid foundation for her role at Hedin US Motor.

A global perspective

Balancing professional and personal life comes naturally to Amanda. She loves spending time with her children, aged six and four, often coaching their football games. Amanda also enjoys running, especially in the beautiful local forests when the weather is nice.

Her higher educational background begins at J?nk?ping University, where she earned her degree in economics. Her studies also included semesters abroad in the USA and New Zealand, broadening her global perspective. After graduation, she began her career as an accounting consultant in Gothenburg where she spent nine years before joining Hedin US Motor, bringing a wealth of experience to her new role.

Being part of something bigger

As the Head of Accounting at Hedin US Motor, Amanda manages the company’s finance functions, with responsibilities extending beyond national borders. She prides herself on her analytical skills and strong aptitude for numbers.

“I became interested in the role of Head of Accounting partly because I felt the role suited me and partly because I wanted to move from a consultant role to working in-house at a company. I wanted to be closer to the business and feel that, together with all my colleagues, we are working towards the same goal. I also found the automotive industry quite interesting because it is constantly changing and is part of almost everyone’s daily life. Hedin US Motor is in a very exciting phase as we establish ourselves in the European market, which feels like an exciting journey to be a part of.”

The Ford F-150 – Fascinating and intimidating

Amanda’s interest in the automotive industry has grown over time. Working with Hedin US Motor has given her the opportunity to interact with the Ford F-150 vehicle, which she finds both fascinating and intimidating. Although she hasn’t driven it yet, she looks forward to the day she has worked up the confidence to take the wheel.
