As we journey through another week of lockdown, we’re finding HR/People teams beginning to strike the balance between the latest urgent fire-fight (in the main furlough), marking this moment in time with a togetherness campaign/message and strategic planning for a post-CV-19 world.
It’s certainly shown the world how business-critical a good people strategy and employer brand is.
So what now? Well, we believe these are the things all organisations need to be more proactively acting on in the weeks ahead, based on the shift in employee thinking we’re seeing.
- Wellbeing – how are we striking a balance on wellbeing: mental, physical, emotional and financial? Segmenting messages to those that might be more vulnerable, at home or on the frontline
- Managers – what support are we giving line managers right now to manage remote teams, cope with individual worries and support those that might be personally affected?
- New normal – what should our new normal look like? What do our leadership team and people think? And what are we putting in place now to commit to support?
- Re-boarding – how will you use the opportunity post COVID-19 to help people return to work, embrace the new and focus on the priorities quickly?
