EMPLOYEE LOYALTY IS CAUSED BY UNDERSTANDING OF VISION
When I was a bit stressed, asking my self why people are leaving my organization, concerned about the excessive labour turnover, a young said to me;
"It's simple bro. Make people understand the vision. I believe you've done your utter most best to make them understand but they do not want to understand. I believe without a doubt that those people who are flopping had expectations of what they would get when they entered TiaMoko and they did not get them which frustrated them. Probably they began to stop serving the vision and thought that they were there to serve you. This ended up bringing bad eyes to them and they thought that they were wasting their time because they were not getting what they expected or they thought they were being exploited"
Coming to meditate on what he said I realized the main cause of labour turnover is because the employees do not know/understand the vision of the organization. Labour turnover refers to the rate at which employees leave employment. I cannot say they leave because of lack of proper incentives, they are people who are actually loyal to a company because they understand the vision. Though they are no proper incentives at the moment, because they know the vision, they know the incentives will definitely come, if not now then later. By explaining them the vision of your organization, the spirit of "serve and the money will be an end result" is going to be born inside of them. The understanding of the vision will make them resilient to other so called causes of labour turnover such as bitter relationships between them and the employees.
I was recently studying a well known organization here in Botswana, their labour turnover is very high. I got the opportunity to ask the owner what the vision of his company was and he did not know it. Yes they are making a lot of money but they could make more if at all they had loyal employees. How then do you expect people to stay loyal to an organization that they do not understand where it is going??
Understand that vision is for the future, if at all you are building something that will last for more generations to come then clearly layout the vision. You are not a leader if you cant clearly layout the vision of your organization, you are a boss. Think about it, know your vision then pass it to the people you work with and you will thank me later.
