Employee Highlight: Taylor Aufiero

Taylor joined the team at Search Inc. in 2021 as an Executive Recruiter, with a proven record of successful experience in multi-industry recruiting and employee management. In 2019, she graduated summa cum laude from Marist College with a Bachelor of Arts. Following this, she quickly learned that recruiting is her passion. Taylor is a relationship building and communications expert, adept at using these strengths to successfully connect clients and candidates, helping everyone achieve their goals. How did you get started in the world of recruiting?

Totally by accident!! I studied History and Law in college but worked part-time with a great firm recruiting non-profit fundraising and development professionals. I worked there during all four years of college and LOVED it, but 100% thought I was going to be a lawyer - I graduated, spent a few months working in corporate real property law, took the LSAT, and realized I was just so...bored!

I changed direction, went back to recruiting, and could not be more thrilled.

What inspired you to keep going?

I have two big things that keep me going; a drive to constantly learn something new, and the desire to have a positive impact on those around me. I’m absolutely inspired when I find a way to do both of those at once, and that’s EXACTLY what I get to do every day in recruiting!

Any advice you could offer to young recruiters as yourself just starting out?

Don’t underestimate the value you bring to your team - as a younger recruiter working with those much more senior, it can be easy to forget how much you have to contribute. Younger voices are a HUGE asset to the workplace, always bringing fresh ideas and skills to the table!

That being said, remember to ALWAYS ask questions - being young also means there’s a lot to learn and the only silly question is one that isn’t asked.

What has been the most rewarding moment(s) of your career?

I could not be more thrilled when a candidate accepts a position, keeps in touch, and consistently tells me how incredibly happy they are in the role we worked together to help them find!

Do you have any long-term goals in your career that you would like to accomplish?

There are tons of little goals to set along the way, but in the long run I look forward to utilizing my time, skills, experience, and passion to continue to help others - professionally and also personally!

What kind of activities do you like to do with your friends or family?

I’m an avid hiker, lover of all things coffee, and am always down to try out a new restaurant, visit an antique shop, or just chill out and watch a great show!

What do you find most rewarding about your job?

I truly enjoy working with such a close, supportive team to make quality connections between clients and candidates. Those relationships, the successful match between a client and candidate, and the personal/professional growth that follows for all involved are always fantastic to be a part of.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

Once you get to know me, I’m super sarcastic! I think I’m hilarious and that’s what really matters ;)

What does an ideal weekend look like for you?

Friends, family, Netflix, novels, and fabulous quality time with my rescue pup/best friend, Theo - a Pitbull/Australian Cattle Dog mix!?
